I recently saw the ‘’Intern’ movie and I liked it. Why? It subtly underscores some issues and themes I’ve been obsessed with over the years: Age and Experience, Life/Career Transition, Entrepreneurship, Image, Attitude, Modern day realities and the opportunities therein, how the today’s realities affect the family and the list goes on. In fact, I’m watching the movie as as I type, pausing repeatedly so I can document my random but insightful thoughts inspired by the movie.
First of all, I do not think we maximize the existence of the elderly among us, at all. They carry with them, decades upon decades of priceless wisdom and truckloads of hindsight. Many things they see us stumble through, they have managed through themselves long ago. They must find it pretty amusing watching these young people fascinated with the devices in their hands, who think stuff that happened decades ago, do not apply to them. We forget that everything that is, has happened before, one way or another, the level of sophistication is just what’s different. Three Yoruba proverbs make this point; they are translated below.
She is one of the most eclectic personalities you will come across in the Nigerian Entertainment industry, and is certainly on the list of the most hardworking and industrious. Adeola Osunkojo is a Television/Film Writer, Producer and Director who started her career as a teen actress, playwright and dancer and years later, served as a Content Director on MTN’S Project Fame West Africa for 6 seasons. She has since directed Television Drama Series like Tales of Eve, So Wrong So Wright, Binary Unit and the popular The Life of A Nigerian Couple on Ebony Life TV which she also created, wrote, produced and directed to rave reviews.
She also recently directed Ndani TV’s Rumour Has it. Her movie directorial credits include – The Date and One Spice at A Time which aired on Ebony Life TV in 2014.
In addition to shows and movies, she also directed Viral videos for the Always #MyFutureStartsToday for Procter & Gamble. and the Copa Coca Cola project with JJ Okocha.
She is currently working on a reality show with Ebony Life TV, a documentary on the Nigerian Coup of ‘76, a feature length movie and the second season of The Life of a Nigerian Couple
