For some of us, shopping for new outfits or figuring out what to wear is a lot of work. Well, for the next few weeks, we bring a number of options to you. Our contributor, Asher Smith, shares some chic ideas from her current collection with us.
The Midi dress
Comfort is very key when picking an outfit to wear or buy. An outfit shouldn't be uncomfortable for it to look good. An outfit that is comfy and stylish is the goal any day just like this multifunctional dress.
With heels and a cute fascinator you are good to go as a wedding guest who chose not to do aso ebi.
It’s ideal for weekend events with your slip on mules or stilettos. It would also be great for a cocktail event
The rich fabric is soft to the touch and for ladies with well defined hips or a bit of bulgy lower abdomen, this dress with its ruffles and pockets has your name written all over it.
The Shift dress
A shift dress is one of my all time favourite fashion classics. This is not too short; color is bold and it fits all body shapes. The side pockets add some swag while the simple design and fabric make the dress a timeless piece. Easy to wear, it can be donned for several occasions. The flower applique adds just the right pop, especially as floral effects are in this season.
It’s the perfect weekend dress.
The Functional dress
No matter how much we enjoy our happy clothes, every girl needs those functional clothes, like a dress that can you can take from day to night. It’s like having two for the price of one which is a plus in this economy!
You can wear a shirt/ blouse under this dress for an office/ day look while a sling bag or cute structured bag, heels and colourful jewelry give you just the right touch for an evening out.
To seal the deal, the pockets at side front create an illusion of wider hips for ladies with less pronounced hip lines
The Smart Ankara dress
A dress like this is ideal for people with smaller upper body vs their lower body i.e the shoulder/waist is smaller than the hips measurement. This body type is described as the Pear Shaped.
This pencil dress creates an illusion of a wider upper body because of its exaggerated butterfly wing sleeves thus creating a balance between upper and lower body.
The embellishment along the center, front and back adds spice and makes it an ideal dress for special occasions.
TO BE CONTINUED NEXT WEEK.
